Dallas Mavericks vs. Golden State Warriors
Game 48 | Chase Center | 25 January 2022
The first time the Warriors for the 2021-22 season was on a historical day, with a historical finish for Dallas. Not only was it #DirkDay (Dirk Nowitzki’s Jersey Retirement Ceremony), but it was after beating the second best team in the NBA and NBA All Time Scoring Leader, Stephen Curry. Yeah, it was magical.
Sadly, that was not the ending of this story out in the Bay. The Warriors defeated the Mavericks, almost with ease, winning 130-92.
The Warriors captured the lead early on and never allowed the Mavericks to catch-up. It was not only an emotional game for this Dallas team but a dramatic one as well. The Mavericks not only lost this game; they lost the heart of this team Tim Hardaway Jr. in a potential season ending injury, “The Jones Fracture”. The sure guard, THJ suffered this injury halfway into the second quarter and the Mavericks could not complete the game while holding their composure. Later in the game, Kristaps Porzingis had a moment he will probably put out of his memory as soon as possible, as he was fined $15,000 for kicking a basketball into the stands.
Truly, a difficult loss to wrap your mind around as an #MFFL.
